WINNER | OPEN CALL FOR URBAN INTERVENTIONS PROJECTS 2014
A collaboration between ArchDaily x Municipality of Abrantes x Canal180
“The 12 Thousand Pairs of Shoes From Abrantes”, by Spanish studio Nodopía (represented by Victor Lledó Garcia, Juan José Pérez Moncho and Mateo Fernández-Muro) recalls a war episode dated hundreds of years ago, when the inhabitants of the town had to give up their shoes to soldiers.
It took almost the entire week of 180 Creative Camp and the valuable help of many volunteers and locals to raise this curtain of shoes, which now creates shade over one of the main squares of the town.
